Classification & Protection

The decision maker tells you what state an entity is in. The features in this part tell you how to treat that state: how important the entity is, what service target it carries, how it is grouped, and which entities are protected from noisy alerting.

• Priority — rank entities by importance.

• Tags — free-form metadata for filtering and routing.

• Labels — a curated, colour-coded catalogue (and rule-driven auto-labels).

• SLA — service-level classes, targets, and attainment.

• Logical groups — collective health and group protection.

• Disruption queue — grace periods that absorb transient anomalies.

• Notes — free-form context attached to an entity.

Note

Priority, tags, and SLA share one mechanism — policies. A policy assigns metadata automatically using a rule (regex, a Splunk lookup, or an SPL search), per component. Policies suggest; a manual override always wins; and removing a policy auto-cleans the assignments it made.
