Compatibility¶
Important
We strongly recommend running the latest release of TrackMe at all times.
Keeping TrackMe up to date ensures you benefit from the latest features, bug fixes, security patches, and performance improvements. If a support case is opened and the running version is identified as significantly outdated, an upgrade to a current release may be required before further investigation can proceed.
Splunk core compatibility¶
Splunk core
TrackMe is compatible with Splunk 9.1 and later.
TrackMe is developed, tested and qualified against latest generation of Splunk Enterprise and Splunk Cloud Victoria in priority.
Splunk Enterprise and Splunk Cloud compatibility¶
Splunk Enterprise compatibility¶
TrackMe is compatible with Splunk Enterprise from Splunk 9.2.x
TrackMe fully supports Python 3.9.x/3.13.x (which are both used by currently support main Splunk versions) and later.
Operating system compatibility for Splunk Enterprise customers¶
OS compatibility for Splunk Enterprise customers
TrackMe only officially supports Linux as the Operating System for Splunk Enterprise customers.
On Windows and MacOS, TrackMe might partially work, but advanced features such as Machine Learning Outliers detection will not be available.
Splunk Cloud compatibility¶
TrackMe is compatible with Splunk Cloud Victoria and Splunk Cloud Classic
On Splunk Cloud Classic, TrackMe Version 2.0.60 and later is required to address some issues due to Splunk SLIM partitioning
Appinspect and vetting¶
We carefully comply with Splunk development best practices to ensure that we provide the highest level of application quality.
Therefore, TrackMe releases are reviewed and validated with Splunk Appinspect:
When a new release of TrackMe is published, our automation also processes the release through Appinspect automation and the Appinspect HTML report is available in the release directory of our download Website:
TrackMe is compatible with Splunk Enterprise and Splunk Cloud products.
Python compatibility¶
Python 3 compatibility
TrackMe supports Python 3 only.
TrackMe is fully compatible with Python 3.9.x/3.13.x (which are both used by currently support main Splunk versions) and later.
Artificial Intelligence features compatibility¶
TrackMe AI features — Splunk & Python requirements
TrackMe remains fully compatible with all supported Splunk releases. The AI features are additive and opt-in; the Python/Splunk requirements below do not affect TrackMe’s core data-monitoring capabilities.
The AI Assistant (conversational chat) and the AI Concierge are compatible with Python 3.9.x and later — i.e. they run on the same Splunk releases as the rest of TrackMe.
The AI Advisors (ML, Feed Lifecycle, FLX Threshold, FQM, and Component Health) are “agentic” features built on the Splunk Agent SDK and require Python 3.13.x, which ships only with Splunk 10.2.x and later (Splunk Enterprise or Splunk Cloud). These advanced AI features are therefore only available on Splunk 10.2.x and later.
Automatic safeguards: TrackMe automatically prevents an Advisor from being invoked when the Python version requirement is not met, returning a clear message about the incompatibility with the running Splunk release. In addition, the AI Assistant will not propose an AI Advisor when it detects that the system is not running a compatible release.
In summary: TrackMe remains fully compatible with previous Splunk releases (Python 3.9.x), including the AI Assistant and the AI Concierge. The advanced AI Advisors require Splunk 10.2.x and later (Python 3.13.x). See Artificial Intelligence in TrackMe for the full AI feature set.
FIPS Mode compatibility¶
TrackMe and FIPS mode
Since TrackMe version 2.0.99, TrackMe is officially compatible with Splunk FIPS mode, and continuously validated on FIPS.
About FIPS: https://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/Splunk/latest/Security/SecuringSplunkEnterprisewithFIPs
In Splunk 9.3.0, several changes were made and some aspects of FIPS are correctly applied, this requires TrackMe 2.0.99 and evolutions we have made to rely on sha256 instead of md5 crypto in various search and Python logics.
Web Browser compatibility¶
TrackMe is supported on Splunk supported Web Browsers:
